A Letter to Hillary Clinton

Dear Hillary Clinton,

Though I think you would make a good president you are a cringy candidate. As I see it your campaign has many problems. You fumbled when you voted to authorized the use of force in Iraq. Given your political ability the only explanation for your breathtaking turnaround on this issue is that you were caught completely by surprise when public opinion turned against the war. Moreover your opposition to the war was established on the eve of its unpopularity ridiculing any claim you have to being a leader. Worse yet is that in the face of your opposition to Vietnam you voted to do it over again demonstrating that you have traded your principles for power.

You have presided over --and in some ways embody-- the destruction of the Democratic party which throughout your time in the Senate was unable to mount any meaningful opposition in the Congress. Your tenure in the White House (Which you list on your political resume) saw the founding of Fox News Channel and with it words like "liberal," "welfare" and "socialized medicine" turned into profanity. You and the DLC triangulated the Democratic party out of relevancy, taking credit for Bill Clinton's victory over George H. W. Bush when Ross Perot deserved it more. Is it any wonder that Americans fell for the moral certitude of George W. Bush in 2000 after an era of mealy mouthing and being ashamed to be liberal?

You say you have more experience than Barack Obama but John McCain has more experience than you. Also he is willing to go to the right to secure his base. Are you willing to go left? Or will you move further to the center again ceding ground to the right wing?

Most of all is that you don't have a fair chance to win the primary at this point. Please follow the link below. You will not be able to win more pledged delegates than Barack Obama or the popular vote. How then will you claim that you've one this race fairly? Or do you care?

Capt. Darrick Gutting is the friendliest guy in Ward 57.

The bald-headed, 40-year-old Pennsylvanian roams the halls, engaging passersby -- soldiers and medical staff -- in conversations that are equal parts jive and heartfelt concern.

Read the full article in the Washington Post. Impressive.

Ridiculous Thought of the Day

After I saw this the strangest thing popped into my head.

What about an Obama Huckabee ticket? They'd be "fair and balanced" on the evolution issue.

Maybe it's a bad idea.

If you've got a half hour you won't be disappointed. This is a fantastic speech. Here's a link to the text on Obama's campaign page. http://my.barackobama.com/page/community/post/samgrahamfelsen/gGBbKG
