24 Hours for Obama

Here's the video evidence of our trip to DC. Please excuse my first attempt at video editing. The video takes place on our 24 hour day in D.C.

3:45am - Wake up at Craig and Jaime's in the D.C. suburbs in northern Virginia. From Craig's house it's a 10 minute drive to the Vienna train station on the orange line. That's the farthest stop from the city: train time 1 hour.

4:20am - Leave the house for the train.

4:35am - The first scene.. Craig did an amazing job finding a parking space. We took back streets so we didn't have to wait in the traffic jam on the freeway.

6:15am - Walking on the streets of D.C. We picked up an Obama beanie and scarf, plus a cup of coffee. THANK GOD FOR COFFEE.

6:30am - We make it to our spot!

7:30am, 8:30am, 9:30am, 10:30am - Chill.

11:30am - They start seating the dignitaries.

Noon - Obama is sworn in six hours after we arrived on our spot. We are fucking tired.

1:00pm - We start heading for the metro. We first try L'Enfant Plaza it's mobbed. Later we'd find out that the National Guard was holding people out so that the crowd inside wouldn't get big enough to force people onto the tracks. Following the metro line we encounter mobbed stations at Federal Center, Capitol South.

2:15pm - We get on the train at the Eastern Market station. It was about a 2 mile walk, but the station is open and we get right on.

3:30pm - We get our first meal of the day. Soooooooo hungry.

4:30pm - We arrive at Dulles Airport

5:45pm - We leave D.C.

2:00am - (Eastern) - We get to SFO! At last! The last video clip is us riding the long term parking shuttle.

3:30am - (Eastern) - We finally hit the sheets after 24 hours for Obama!
